Hi all, Im 48 and have been in pre menapause since I was about 34. I've been through the night sweats, vag. dryness, and lack of intrest all ready. In the past 4 years I have been gaing weight like crazy. All my life I  have been about 100-120 pounds. Even  when I was pregnant I only gained about 40 pounds. Well I'm at 179  now.  I know its hormonal. Any advise.

Deb3- Aren't the hot flashes the worst? I am fine one minute and then the next I am dying of heat. I do have a question for you and that is if you have found that they go away and then come back. That is what was happening with me so I was curious if other have experienced the same thing.

Hello Deb3,

I suggest that you pick up a copy of my book Sexy Hormones (follow the links through my website, www.hormonehelp.com) and read it cover to cover. Also you should start EstroSense 2 capsules with food daily; this is to help balance your hormones. Start using Emerita’s lubricant for vaginal dryness.

I also suggest you have your thyroid checked. Women who still have periods and who get night sweats often have low thyroid. Low thyroid also causes weight gain. Your TSH blood test for thyroid should be below 2 and you have to ask for the number because women with a TSH between 2 and 5.5 are often told that their thyroid function is "fine." (Hypothyroidism is diagnosed when TSH is above 5.5, but women with a TSH above 2 can still experience symptoms.) If your TSH is above 2, you will want to support the thyroid with ThyroSense 2 capsules at breakfast.

Your diet should consist primarily of vegetables, proteins and healthy fats. Eliminate excess carbohydrates and high-sugar foods. Eat no more than what fits onto a side plate; the dinner plate is just too big. Please refer to Sexy Hormones for more advice on rebalancing your hormones.

Kind regards, Lorna
